Badam Sweet

Sweet made of almonds garnished with cardomon and saffron.

 


Ingredients:

Almonds – 1 cup
Sugar- 1/2 - 3/4 cup depending on your taste.
Milk – 3/4 cup
Ghee – 4 tbsp
Saffron- 1/4 tsp
Cardamom- 1 pod (powdered)

Directions

Add almonds to boiling water, switch off and cover and allow them to soak for 1 hour.
After an hour, peel its skin and grind it with little water to make a smooth paste.
Take a deep bottomed pan add milk and sugar. Wait until until sugar dissolves.Then add almond paste.Add ghee and cardamom powder and mix well.
Keep stirring every few minutes on low-medium- heat. It takes about 30 -40 minutes to thicken.
Once it starts leaving the edges of the vessel, transfer it to a greased plate.
Knead it like a dough to give it a polish look.
Make burfis of desired shapes and garnish with some saffron and almonds.
